Akriti is a holistic learning, remedial, and therapy center dedicated to nurturing children with diverse learning needs, developmental challenges, and unique abilities.

About Us

Akriti is a comprehensive learning and therapy center committed to empowering children with special needs, developmental delays, learning differences, and challenges in functional skills.

We support children who may need additional guidance in academics, communication, sensory development, motor skills, daily living skills, mainstream schooling, and open schooling pathways.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together special educators, subject teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, yoga instructors, and Brain Gym practitioners. Together, we design individualized programs that focus on each child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. At Akriti, we believe intervention is most effective when children are understood, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

Our Founder

Dr. Bindu Srinath, Founder of Akriti Learning Centre, brings over a decade of experience in the field of special education. Her journey began on a deeply personal note—supporting her own son as he navigated challenges in academics and daily living skills. What started as a mother’s determination to help her child succeed became the foundation of her lifelong commitment to helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

Akriti was born out of lived experience—a place built on compassion, structured support, and the belief that every child deserves to be understood and empowered. Over the years, Akriti has touched the lives of more than 1,000 children and their families, handholding them through their educational journeys and ensuring that truly, every child matters.

Dr. Bindu has worked extensively with children facing learning differences such as Dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. She provides individualized, evidence-based interventions that foster both academic success and functional independence.

A key focus of her work is Akriti’s BLISS Movement Therapy, her passion project. Dr. Bindu strongly believes that structured and purposeful movement forms the essential foundation for learning, attention, and cognitive development in children. By integrating movement with academic support, she helps children build stronger neural pathways that enhance focus, coordination, and overall learning readiness.

Adding another feather to her cap, Dr. Bindu is now the proud owner of Special Strong Irving–Denton, Texas, U.S.A. Special Strong Irving–Denton offers science-based adaptive fitness programs designed for individuals with mental, physical, or cognitive challenges.

Learning Disabilities (LD) are neurologically based processing problems. These processing problems interfere with basic skills such as reading, writing, spelling and/or math and or executive functional skills.

If your child is struggling with academics and is not at his or her grade level in areas of reading, writing, spelling, comprehension and math, an assessment can determine if your child has a learning difficulty.

BLISS is an integrated movement therapy that incorporates movements from various disciplines. These structured movement exercises have shown positive and successful results in areas such as focus and attention, cognition, memory and motor skills.

Admissions open for our Elementary program! (Ages 6 yrs to 14 yrs)

Admissions are now open for Akriti’s full day Elementary Program and Pre-Elementary program for ages 6 Yrs to 14 yrs. Sessions include Remedial education in English, Math and Early Science, Communication and social skills, ADL and functional skills. The program is specifically designed for children with special needs, and for children unable to attend regular school or with interrupted schooling.

Akriti’s “Build Your Own Program”

At Akriti we offer a “Build your own program” designed for children with special needs. Each program is tailored to support your child’s unique strengths and challenges. Duration: 2 weeks to three months, with customized sessions based on individual needs. The program includes skill development, remedial support, ADL skills, Occupational therapy, and speech and communication support—and more, depending on your child’s needs.
